So my weekend down in SoCal was a blast, over way too early, of course, but had a great time. Mitch Hedberg was hilarious, even if I had heard half his show before on Comedy Central. Plus, The Improv had this drink, the Side Splitter, that just kicked all of our asses.
Coolest thing that happened this weekend? I actually experienced my first earthquake, a 5.4. Thankfully, it was ealry in the morning, and I was incredibly groggy, or else I probably woulda been freaking out like a little pansy. Anyway, I was told a 5.4 isn't that big really, but I felt it even through sleepiness, so it was still pretty cool.
The drive up and down was pretty fun, albeit somewhat frustrating. The 5 is probably my favorite stretch of road to drive, because it's one big line, and barely anyone obeys the speed limit. It's not unheard of to be driving along, look down at your speedometer, and catch yourself breaking triple digits with traffic... not that I ever did that of course. The frustrating part of it, is that ever is going along at a study pace, but the road is only two lanes, so as soon as one truck tries to pass another, it comes to a grinding halt (and by grinding halt I mean a slow-as-balls 65 MPH. Ugh. Anyway, made the 450 mile trip back in 6 hours, 15 minutes. That means for the entire trip I averaged 72 MPH... very cool.
